Prediction: Amy and her family encounter a problem with the dollhouse.
Turns out Aunt Clare had lost her job. That's why she left Chicago. Amy's problems stems from her younger sister. She blames her sister for her losing her friends. Amy feels like her sister always gets her way and she never does. Also, aunt Clare explained to Amy that her parents died when she was younger and they went to live with their Grandparents.
Text to Self Connection: Aunt Clare suggested to Amy that she come and stay with her for a couple of weeks to get a break from her younger sister. I was much younger when my older sister went to stay a couple of weeks with my oldest sister in Houston Texas. She was taking a break from my mom and dad and my oldest sister thought she could help.
Text to Text: Amy could tell Aunt Clare, "that her mother wouldn't agree because she didn't particularly like Aunt Clare." That particular line from the text made me think of the story Because of Mr. Terupt. In that story, there were some young girls that couldn't be friends because a mom didn't approve of the other mom.
Text to world: Amy feels pretty unhappy about her life having to constantly take care of her sister. Everyone will have problems from time to time. Some people are born into a tougher fight than others.

ReplyDeletei wouldn't have thought about the text to text because we would be writing about books that they have read in the past and not think about books that you just read. Because of Mr. Terupt is a good book for this text to text.
